Y-switch (Y-turnout)
Modelrailroad technical Lexicon: Y-switch (Y-turnout)

Y-switch of the PIKO A-track H0 scale-wire, manual operation with positioning, electric drive retrofit
A Y-switch is a special geometry of a turnoff to the direction of track-mounted vehicles. In the Y-switch in the model must be exactly like the model does not have the exact figure of a Y, Y-switches often, for example, the geometric shape of turnouts.
For model railroaders is a Y-switch, particularly in the large footsteps, have such as narrow a large scale, a possibility of the turnoff to the smallest possible space. Since a Y-switch offers only two directions corresponding to the technical feasibility of a switch with a standard branch right or left, the blade of turnout is thus only apportioned between two positions.
